In the television category, CES has become a yearly opportunity for Samsung to showcase its extensive range of 4K and 8K TVs. The Korean manufacturer faces some stiff competition from LG, Hisense, Sony, and TCL but their market share is rather considerable.
When you factor in their smartphone and tablet business, appliances, and high-end audio brands under the Harman International umbrella (JBL, Mark Levinson, Arcam, Harman Kardon, AKG, Revel) — Samsung is a brand with deep pockets and massive market distribution.
Samsung’s 2024 TV lineup has been announced and we have new details about the pricing of each new model.

Samsung Neo QLED 8K TVs
Prior to the start of CES 2024, Samsung claimed that 40% of premium shoppers say they’re considering an 8K TV as their next purchase. Unfortunately, those desires have not been actualized in actual sales numbers.
Even with slow market adoption, Samsung are doubling down with their latest 8K TV offerings (despite hurdles erected by the EU) including the QN800D and QN900D Neo QLED series, both of which are being offered in 65 through 85-inch screen sizes.
Focusing on the QN900D, Samsung claims it is the slimmest, most premium 8K TV to ever hit the market.
Key Features for 2024
8K AI Upscaling Pro: For the first time, the QN900D can upscale even SD/HD content into 4K-like resolution, and 4K content into 8K with 8K AI Upscaling Pro. It’s also the first TV to support a maximum VRR of 4K 240Hz — which will be great news to gamers.
AI Motion Enhancer Pro: This latest version can analyze what sport you’re watching and help you track the specific kind of ball with crystal clarity. You can actually see the ball as it zips across the screen.
Real Depth Enhancer Pro: This maximizes Mini LED control, so you get enhanced contrast that makes content come alive — we will be interested to see how this works with content such as auto racing that has multiple objects moving across the screen at the same time at a very high rate of speed.
Now+: When the TV is off, Now+ can transform the blank screen into an interactive information center that you can customize to provide weather updates, home IoT updates, a family text messaging board, and a music widget for mobile music listening.
One Connect Box: For 2024, the QN900D boasts a redesigned One Connect Box with a compact U-shaped module with two ports in the back, completely invisible to viewers. That means you can connect your cable, satellite box, or video game system to the TV without unsightly wires.
Mounting: The TV’s Slim Flat Back design helps you beautifully mount the TV against your wall – while its new Infinity Air Stand is made of ultra-slim and premium metal, sporting a mirror-like finish that makes the TV look like it’s floating.

Samsung Neo QLED 4K TVs
In the 4K UHD category for 2024, Samsung is offering the N90D (43 to 98 inches) and QN85D (55 to 85 inches) model series.
Both model series are designed to deliver a cinematic 4K UHD viewing experience, transforming whatever you’re watching into 4K with scene-by-scene clarity, thanks to the updated Neural Quantum Processor with 4K Upscaling.
The Real Depth Enhancer Pro sharpens foreground images and improves the visibility of the main content on-screen.
AI Customization Mode is also available to optimize the picture based on the scene you’re watching. Simply select your preferred picture for each genre when you first set up your TV.
Every time after that, the Samsung processor will do the hard work for you, using AI to detect the scene you’re watching and automatically optimize the picture based on your preference.
For speech clarity, the Samsung Neo QLED 4K (as well as Neo QLED 8K, OLED/QD-OLED) TVs incorporate Active Voice Amplifier Pro. This feature can boost dialogue or key sound effects.

Samsung 4K UHD OLED (QD-OLED) TVs
Combining Quantum dot and OLED technology, the S90D and S95D (from 55 to 77 inches) use individually self-lit pixels to eliminate the need for LED backlighting and an LCD display layer, increasing brightness and color accuracy
Tip: Technically, Samsung’s “OLED” TVs are QD-OLED TVs – which is slightly different than OLED TVs. However, Samsung markets them as OLED TVs. However, Samsung does offer an 83-inch traditional OLED TV in its 2023 product line-up.
This TV line provides wide contrast, vibrant color, and high-brightness display output.
The S95D is the first OLED (QD-OLED) TV with OLED Glare Free technology. This provides the best possible viewing experience across both bright and dark rooms. It has no negative effects on your viewing angle or contrast, and no color distortion.
Tech Note: Gamers should be aware that the S95D incorporates a 4K 144Hz panel which should provide very smooth game play.
Samsung OLED (QD-OLED) screens can display the full depth of color – validated by Pantone, the industry-leading color experts.
At under 11mm, the S95D is also extremely thin. It features a flat-back design with an attachable One Connect Box that complements any space, making high-end architectural installations easy.
In addition to video, the S95D is also designed to deliver great sound. Object Tracking Sound leverages the TV’s built-in multi-channel speakers to provide a fully immersive soundstage. With enhancements to its built-in speaker distribution on the side, bottom, and top of the TV, viewers can experience Dolby Atmos.

The Frame TV
For those who desire a more stylish-looking TV, the continued evolution of The Frame TV provides a more complete art experience while it is off and improved picture quality when it is turned on.
The latest iteration includes Pantone Art Validated colors, so that every piece of artwork you display appears even more natural and realistic – exactly as the artist intended.
Coming in 2024, the Frame’s Art Store will introduce a unique and dynamic art streaming experience known as Curator Picks. This is a revolving gallery of artwork selected by Samsung’s curation experts.
Featuring artwork from the Art Store collection, it inspires people to explore a diverse range of art, with or without an Art Store subscription and an optimized art experience is also available in the SmartThings mobile app so it’s even easier to upload your favorite content to The Frame.
For 2024, The Frame will also be more energy efficient, with a new dynamic refresh rate. When enabled with Art Mode, the new models can automatically reduce the refresh rate to 60Hz. That means you can still enjoy your favorite, high-quality artwork – while conserving energy.

Samsung Goes Big
Demand for bigger screen sizes continues to increase. In fact – last year, 44% of people reported buying a new TV because they wanted a larger screen (source: NPD).
In 2024, Samsung will offer more ultra-large screen options than ever, including four 98-inch models spread across the Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, QLED 4K, and Crystal UHD (LED/LCD) TV product lines.
Tip: The largest announced 2024 QD-OLED models are 77 inches (same as 2023).
Video Processing for 98-inch TVs: As screens get larger, their pixels get larger. When looking at a 98-inch TV versus a 65-inch TV – its pixels will be 2.3x larger.
As a result, Samsung is providing several key video processing features to optimize 98-inch TV picture performance. AI-powered features like Supersize Picture Enhancer, a newly upgraded AI Upscaling Engine, and Real Depth Enhancer Pro support better picture quality for 98-inch screen size TVs.
Accessibility Features
In 2023, Samsung introduced several accessibility features to make it easier for anyone to use their TVs. Samsung continues that trend by adding more accessibility options for 2024.
Audible Subtitles: This is the world’s first TV service that reads subtitles aloud in real-time. This is very practical for those with low vision watching foreign language content.
The Audible Subtitle feature uses software in combination with a Samsung-engineered subtitle tracking module to analyze every video frame of a movie or program. The module differentiates text on the screen as to whether it is a subtitle and when it’s not. This prevents the reading of non-subtitle elements, like street signs.
Once a subtitle is determined, Text to Speech (TTS) software reads the subtitle aloud. This works quickly and consistently with more than 95% accuracy. Audible Subtitles support a range of text styles, sizes, colors, fonts, backgrounds, and more. Users can also customize the pace at which a subtitle is read and the localized volume of the audio reading.
Relumino Together: This feature uses Samsung Multi-View so you can enable Relumino Mode on just one side of the screen so everyone can watch TV together. It builds off Relumino Mode, which enables televisions to use Samsung-developed artificial intelligence to dynamically outline the edges of on-screen elements and rebalance colors.
Remote Control App: For 2024, bigger buttons make controlling the TV easier for those with visual impairments.
More Advanced Features
In addition to TV display hardware, Samsung is also presenting new or updated features for its TVs in 2024 including the following:
Smart Hub: The new Home User Interface makes it easier to discover content with more personalized experiences. There is a new tab structure with three categories: For You, Live, and Apps. These categories allow quick access to favorite content without needing to scroll. Users can also create profiles for up to 6 users so each user can enjoy their own customized content.
Samsung TV Plus: Choose from hundreds of live TV channels, and thousands of movies and shows on demand. With a new user interface for 2024, it’s easier to discover content. There is a new dedicated Kids experience where users can choose from 25 family-friendly channels and hundreds of shows and movies on-demand. Music fans can also now stream Music, all in one place with 40+ live TV and over 200 on-demand music videos and playlists.
Daily+: A platform that brings together features across SmartThings, Health, Communication and Workspace.
- SmartThings: Just as in previous versions, the user can control and monitor all your connected smart home devices.
- Health: With Health, you’ll find a new Workout Tracker – it’s the first home-workout experience built directly into Samsung TVs and monitors. Connect your treadmill and sync workouts to your TV, or even try new F45 training – all on a glanceable widget, right on your screen. Also, access round-the-clock telehealth services for yourself – and even for your pets, with our new Dr. Tail partnership.
- Communication: Same as in 2023, Communication helps you access messaging features like Connect Time and ChatTogether.
- Workspace: This lets you easily connect to a remote PC or Microsoft 365 – so you can use your TV as another work screen.
Content & Gaming
Samsung Gaming Hub: Players can play, pause, leave, and pick up exactly where they left off with access to more than 3,000 cloud-based games, with or without a console. New for 2024, Gaming Hub will feature a tailored UI, curated to you and your personal gaming preferences.
And, of course, more partners, content, and games to be introduced throughout the year!
Game Bar 4.0: New features with the Game Bar for 2024 include AI Auto Mode, Mini-Map Auto Detection, and Light Sync App.
- AI Auto Mode uses an AI engine to recognize the game genre you’re playing, and automatically adjust sound and picture quality. AI Auto Mode will brighten certain areas so you can see what’s in the shadows or make approaching footsteps louder to help you win.
- Mini-Map Auto Detection can automatically recognize where the Mini Map is and can seamlessly place it where you want on the screen. Previously, you had to manually set the Mini Map using your remote – now, no external device is required.
- Light Sync App lets users enjoy an even more realistic atmosphere when gaming.
Security
Privacy in the Internet age is becoming more of a concern. Here is what Samsung is doing to protect its smart TV users.
- Knox Matrix: This provides End-to-End Encryption for all Samsung Smart TVs. This ensures that only authorized apps can access your data.
- Samsung Knox Vault: Available on its Neo QLED 8K TV lineup – it’s the first dedicated security chip on a smart TV. Sensitive data – like pins and passwords, can be saved on a separate chip within your TV which is armed with tamper-resistant security. The chip acts as a vault and can protect sensitive passwords from hacks.
