Collaborations between high-end audio brands and luxury automakers have proven to be a mixed bag over the past 20 years, but there is a lot of positive momentum right now when you look at the success of the partnerships between Sonus faber and Maserati, McIntosh and Jeep, Bowers & Wilkins and Aston Martin, KEF and Lotus.
Bang & Olufsen are deeply involved in the luxury car audio experience with a number of automakers, but those are specifically tied to car audio systems and not products for the home.
The new Bang & Olufsen Ferrari Collection aims to fill that gap with a limited-edition series of products that combine their latest wireless headphones, IEMs, and loudspeakers with the legendary Italian automakers signature colors and design accents.
The Ferrari collaboration also comes with some sticker shock for these limited edition pieces.
Here is a rundown of what products are being offered as part of the Bang & Olufsen Ferrari collection.
Beosound 2 Speaker
The Bang & Olufsen Beosound 2 was originally introduced in 2016 but has seen a number of significant changes over the past seven years.
The Beosound 2 (3rd Generation) is a uniquely shaped wireless-powered speaker that is designed to fill a room with 360-degree sound. It has built-in class D amps to power its drivers as well as providing internet connectivity for access to popular streaming services via Chromecast built-in, Apple Airplay, and Bluetooth. One innovative feature of the Beosound 2 is the inclusion of Active Room Compensation via Active Room Sense. This allows the speaker to detect its position in any space via a built-in microphone and distribute sound accordingly to ensure the optimum listening experience.
For the Ferrari Collection, the Beosound 2 is anodized in Ferrari’s signature red. The aluminum body is polished to provide a high shine, which brings out the richness of the red shade. To top it off, the the iconic Ferrari emblem sits below the grille.
