Speaker deals are great. But deals on home theater speakers that are actually worth buying are even better. Speakers by European manufacturer Focal don’t go on sale often. They don’t have to. But this week we were pleasantly surprised to see a fair amount of Focal’s gear on sale at 20% off. This includes the excellent and affordable Focal Sub Evo 5.1.2 speaker system.
Our upgrade pick in a budget Dolby Atmos home theater system, this kit normally sells for $1699, and at that price, it’s already a bargain. But this week, it’s available for just $1,359.20 (20% off) with free shipping. Here’s the link:
> Focal Sib Evo 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos Speaker System on Amazon
Focal’s Sib Evo system is a compact and modular home theater speaker system which can be custom-configured and expanded over time. The Sib Evo platform includes a compact satellite speaker (Sib Evo 2.0), a satellite speaker with up-firing drivers (Sib Evo Dolby Atmos 2.0) and a Cub Evo powered subwoofer. In the 5.1.2-channel system featured here you get three of the Sib Evo 2.0 speakers for center and surround channels, two of the Sib Evo Dolby Atmos 2.0 speakers for front left and right and height channels, and one of the Cub Evo subwoofers for handling the low bass.
Just add a receiver like the Denon AVR-S760H or the Sony STR-AZ1000ES and you’ve got a killer 5.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos surround sound system which will leave any soundbar-based system in the dust. Great for music and movies alike, Focal’s Sib Evo/Sub system gives you a taste of the high-end Focal sound for a budget price. Its compact size and stylish design also fits in well with a modern living room.
The system is part of a wider sale by Focal which started yesterday and runs until March 26. Sale is limited to stock on hand. Focal’s award-winning Bathys wireless headphones are also on sale for 20% off.
The coolest part about the Focal Sib Evo system is that it is fully expandable and upgradeable. You can start with 5.1.2 channels, then if you want to expand, you can add a pair of the Sib Evo Dolby Atmos 2.0 speakers for a 7.1.4 system. Or if you want even more bass, you can add an extra Cub Evo.

Well done, Sir Chris! I have started down the path of less is more and Focal makes a strong statement to ignore that. Unti, that is, this excellent article on this small set-up!
My little (she hates it when I say “little”) sister just got a Denon AVR-S760H and some speakers installed in their ceiling. I will (hopefully!) make it out there this spring/summer to hook it all up for them (along with some wireless HEOS speakers as a present for her and her husband!) but if they had not gone the way of the ceiling mount, I would have happily recommended these or even gotten them for her. Family is important as are friends for they are very often extended family that are at times within closer reach than are blood relatives. Aaaand…I am ramblin’. Again.
It is good to read you again, my friend. In all ways and for always, be well. Please pardon any spelling errors. Thank you!

Ah, the superhero “Heos Man” has resurfaced! (Sorry, did I just expose your secret identity? Sorry!) Sounds like HiFi Audio is a game you’ve got the whole family playing. And more power to you for doing it. My next speaker review (after a set of NHTs) is actually this Sib Evo system but in a 7.2.4 configuration. Pretty impressive what comes out of these little boxes. Anyway, good to hear from you. Happy reading (and listening).
