Gold Member Username: BernymacAQ HD3!!, CA United States Post Number: 1130 Registered: Sep-04 | I know most of you have already seen the pictures I posted in the past. But I wanted to post them up again from beginning till the end. Right now I'm somewhere around 50% done, so theres still more from just what I have of the pictures. List of equipment: HeadUnit: Pioneer P860MP Subwoofers: 2* AudioQue HD315 Subwoofer Amps: 2* MassiveAudio P3000.1 Components: CDT HD-62/M6 Front and Rears High Amp: 1* MassiveAudio P800.4 Alternator: 260AMP Iraggi Alternator Batteries: 1* Optima Redtop (under the hood) / 2* Odyssey 2150S (Cargo Area) Subwoofer Box: Designed by DJ, Built by me. Subwoofer Box Specs: 14cuft after subwoofer displacement and port, tuned to 40hz. Now on to some old pictures. Next update will include pictures of the inside of the box resined. and 90degree angles of resin. After that, carpet the box, then sound deadener, and then finally install everything. Should be done before the end of the year, but don't count on it. Lazyness kicks in from time to time. Ok, now old pictures. |
Gold Member Username: BernymacAQ HD3!!, CA United States Post Number: 1131 Registered: Sep-04 | More pictures of the sub's when I got them. Beginning of October. Went and got the wood the next day to begin on the box. |
Gold Member Username: BernymacAQ HD3!!, CA United States Post Number: 1132 Registered: Sep-04 | Putting the box together and cutting out the hole for the subwoofer. Test fit. Double Baffle glued and complete. |
Gold Member Username: BernymacAQ HD3!!, CA United States Post Number: 1133 Registered: Sep-04 | So I created the brace that will hold the box together inside, keeping it from flexing. Don't worry, at this point in time I did a little more bracing than that. Added the top piece to the box. Pain in the A** when trying to build this box by yourself. And also having no table to work on is a pain. |
Gold Member Username: BernymacAQ HD3!!, CA United States Post Number: 1134 Registered: Sep-04 | So now, these pictures were taken on 10/25/06. And at that point in time the box was put together. Heres those pictures. |
Gold Member Username: BernymacAQ HD3!!, CA United States Post Number: 1135 Registered: Sep-04 | Contined from last post. That was the last update. A week or so later I resined inside the box every 90Degree angle there was, didn't really take pictures of that. Today, I poured in fiberglass resin on the flat surface, about 3/8ths thick or so. Pictures tomarrow on that, not sure if thats interesting but I will post it anyways. |

Silver Member Username: Mike_16Burlington, Wisconsin Us Post Number: 244 Registered: Aug-06 | why is there 2 power wires in those amps or is it a power and ground wow what a dumb ? huh lol well it looks lik etheres 2 remote wires in the one amp whats that 4? wow would get lost with trin to hook up a big three with all those power wires i wouildnt know where to start |
Gold Member Username: JohnfiacIL Afghanistan,... Post Number: 1678 Registered: Mar-06 | Connecting power isnt hard, just takes time to run them all through the car\firewall the 2 in the remote i would guess is so he didnt have to run another remote wire so he daisy chain'd it to the other amp, berny.. by looking at the amp... it looks like there are 4 terminals for speaker outputs its mono so i am assuming that thats just for making it easier to run in paralel, are those DVC 2ohm running 1 ohm, or DVC1 running .5? BTW where the fu<k can i find resin.... i looked all over at menards and homedepot.. kept finding like varnish and wood polish stuff.. nothing like that at all...whats it called exactly? |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodian Post Number: 2138 Registered: Sep-04 | its called epoxy resin, and its in the paint section. it should be near where the bondo/gorilla glue/wood glue isle. and its not two power wires. one ground and one power. if you looked close enough you can see the black electrical tape to show that its for ground. and like killa said, i daisy chained for the remote. on another note. the subs are dual 4. wire down to 2ohm each, and connected to its own terminal at 2ohms giving them about 1000rms each. the amp is 2ohm stable (bridged). but since the other amp doesn't work. i just hooked it up as you see. the amp isn't 1ohm stable. a lot of people get confused as to why i hooked the subs the way i did. lets just say i know what i'm doing and no! i can not wire it down to 1ohm bridged!! so yeah. |
Silver Member Username: Mike_16Burlington, Wisconsin Us Post Number: 264 Registered: Aug-06 | ok i understand i wasnt thinking of of chaining the power wires lol forgot, but anyways nicee setup |
Silver Member Username: GamerdudeOntario Canada Post Number: 429 Registered: Apr-06 | How thick is the surrounds on those woofers? Its gotta be up there 1-3mm? |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodian Post Number: 2658 Registered: Sep-04 | I thought I would update this thing and post up a few more pictures of some progress. Building a amp rack for the amps and also made a rack that goes under the 2nd row seating to hold the AC EQX and 6XS. |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodian Post Number: 2659 Registered: Sep-04 | Now to the finished product! Like this thread says, from beginning to end. And I am far from the end of this whole project. I will post pictures of my new box in the next day or so. And a few weeks from this post, pictures of my custom door panels, done by me of course. |
